Rimavská Sobota and Brezno hockey stadiums to undergo reconstruction

Ice hockey stadiums in Rimavská Sobota and Brezno are set to undergo significant reconstruction following successful grant applications. The projects are supported by the Slovak Ice Hockey Association (SZĽH) and the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic.

The total amount of subsidies for the seven selected sports venues reaches up to 3.7 million euros. In Rimavská Sobota, the renovation will include a complete replacement of the roof cladding, insulation of the structural frame, and the installation of new windows and doors. Additionally, work will cover the interior insulation of locker rooms and hallways, repairs to ventilation and recuperation systems, new heating units, and updated interior lighting.

Michal Slovák, chairman of HKM Rimavská Sobota, noted that the stadium's roof was in an emergency state, requiring long-term repairs that have finally been addressed through this funding opportunity.
