Rimavská Sobota opens new pediatric clinic to address doctor shortage

Pediatrician Zuzana Molnárová has opened a new outpatient clinic in Rimavská Sobota, Slovakia, to help address a regional shortage of child healthcare providers. The clinic, which is the fifteenth regional outpatient facility opened by the Banská Bystrica Self-Governing Region, has been operational since September.

Molnárová, a mother of three, transitioned from hospital work to this outpatient setting to achieve a better work-life balance and reduce commuting time. The clinic has the capacity to manage up to 1,300 patients. The move comes as Rimavská Sobota remains classified as a red zone due to the ongoing lack of pediatric specialists in the area.
