Rimgaudas Leonavičius Leads 100‑km Charity Walk to Alytų

The fifth annual 100‑kilometre support trek to Alytų began on the morning of August 1, with 22 participants gathering at Kaunas railway station. Organized by Rimgaudas Leonavičius, the walk starts in Kaunas and follows a new route – the first ten kilometres lead to Garliava before continuing toward Alytų. The event, which previously began in Vilnius, aims to raise funds for the Pokyčių ambasada, a programme that assists children with special needs and their families by providing therapeutic support and other resources.

Organisers emphasise that the walk is not a competitive sport but a community effort, attracting people of varied ages and abilities who each cover as much distance as they can. Contributions collected during the trek are directed to improve care and opportunities for vulnerable children and to help families receive the help they need.
