Rimini and Colombaro announce urban and sports infrastructure upgrades
Rimini has approved the technical-economic feasibility project for the urban regeneration of the former Colonia Enel area. The project aims to transform the space between Parco del Mare and viale Regina Margherita into a multi-functional seaside square designed for year-round use. The development will include an outdoor gym, an inclusive playground, and a central plaza for markets and cultural events, seeking to promote seasonal de-seasonalization of the tourism area.
In Colombaro, renovation works have begun on the municipal gymnasium, funded by approximately 85,000 euros from Ferrari S.p.A. and RCS Sport & Events. These funds were generated from the Mezza Maratona d’Italia – Memorial Enzo Ferrari. The upgrades include replacing 520 square meters of worn flooring with high-performance shock-absorbing linoleum and updating obsolete lighting systems to improve safety and functionality for local youth and sports activities.
