Rimini and Fano expand electronic surveillance and ZTL monitoring
Rimini is expanding its electronic surveillance network, utilizing nearly 500 cameras managed by its local police operations center. In the past year, the center handled 24,800 interventions and monitored 66 million vehicle transits. New installations are being deployed in the historic center, various neighborhoods, and key infrastructure areas, with further expansions planned for the SS16 highway and major intersections through the City Vision and Urban Eye projects.
In Fano, the municipal government has restarted the procurement process for seven electronic access points (ZTL) in the historic center. Following a ten-month delay, the project will involve installing automated license plate recognition cameras at seven specific locations. The initiative includes a new digital platform for managing permits, with the tender process now utilizing a scoring system that weighs technical quality at 75% and economic bids at 25%.
