Rimini commemorates the 82nd anniversary of the Tre Martiri

The city of Rimini is launching a three-day program of events to mark the 82nd anniversary of the martyrdom of the ‘Tre Martiri’—Mario Capelli, Luigi Nicolò, and Adelio Pagliarani. The three partisans were executed by Nazi forces on August 16, 1944.

On Friday, August 14, the commemorations begin in Borgo San Giuliano with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque at the birthplace of Mario Capelli. This initiative, organized by the Società de Borg, will be attended by local authorities and the Rimini section of the National Association of Italian Partisans (ANPI). Following the ceremony, guided tours of partisan memory sites will be offered by the Municipal Museums.

The central institutional ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, August 16. It will include the laying of laurel wreaths in via Ducale and piazza Tre Martiri, accompanied by the Banda Città di Rimini. The program concludes with the 13th Vincenzo Mascia Prize and a theatrical performance titled ‘Fabbrico, storia di un paese antifascista’ by Massimiliano Loizzi.
