Rimini continues Piedibus sustainable mobility project
The Piedibus sustainable mobility project in Rimini has confirmed its continuation for the next two school years. Currently, 153 children are enrolled across eight active lines serving seven primary schools: Montessori, Toti, Casti, Decio Raggi, Mario Lodi, Carla Ronci, and Alba Adriatica.
Launched in 2007, the initiative promotes walking between home and school with the help of volunteers. The project aims to foster child autonomy, encourage healthy lifestyles, and reduce traffic congestion during school arrival and departure times. The Municipality of Rimini has entrusted the implementation of the project to Anteas APS.
Chiara Bellini, the Councilor for Educational Policies, described the initiative as an educational project that allows children to navigate their neighborhoods and build community relationships while promoting safer school zones.
