Italian Dance Sport Championships 2026 in Rimini crowns multiple champions
The 2026 Italian Dance Sport Championships organised by FIDeSM were held in Rimini, recording a participation surge with 11,200 athletes registering for 18,300 entries and daily fair‑ground attendance of around 6,500 people. Young dancers from across Italy captured titles in a range of Latin and Caribbean styles.
Giada Tagliafierro of Caserta, aged 13, won the junior duo synchronized Latin style gold with partner Melissa Scalzone, just two months after forming the pair. In the 12‑13 year B class, Roggiano Gravina’s Gaia Zampilli secured three gold medals in Salsa Shine, Bachata Shine and a Merengue showcase, adding a bronze in Merengue Shine. The Super Cup Youth Latin American competition was topped by the Calabria duo Alessandro Falbo and Suamy Lourdes Violi. San Severo’s Christian Vassallo retained the Italian title in Salsa Showcase and placed second in Salsa Shine, earning promotion to the elite Class A. Paralympic athlete Giada Canino added medals in hip‑hop solo, duo and group events. The championships highlighted strong performances from Calabria, Campania, Puglia and other regions, reinforcing Italy’s growing prominence in sport dance.
