Rimini hosts 'Occhi sulla storia' exhibition celebrating 140 years of Il Resto del Carlino

The newspaper Il Resto del Carlino marks its 140th anniversary with the travelling exhibition “Occhi sulla storia” staged in the Santa Maria church in Nives, Rimini. The show runs from 29 July to 9 August 2026 and is free to the public. It presents photographs, front pages and articles that document major national and local events – from the world wars and the pandemic to notable sports achievements – as they appeared in the paper over the past century and a half.

Organisers include the newspaper’s vice‑director Valerio Baroncini and journalist Claudio Cumani, with a dedicated section honoring former reporter Silvano Cardellini. The exhibition is supported by the Rimini cultural services and partners such as Hera, local BCC branches and other regional sponsors. Visiting hours are daily, with most days open from 10 am to 1 pm and 4 pm to 7 pm; additional evening slots are scheduled on certain dates.
