Rimini hotelier Marco Galvani's family files complaint over online abuse

The family of Marco Galvani, a prominent hotelier from Rimini, has filed a formal complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rimini following a wave of online abuse. The legal action targets individuals who posted insults and personal attacks on social media both during Galvani's struggle for life and after his death.

Galvani, the 63-year-old owner of Hotel Cortina in Marina Centro, died from injuries sustained in a serious accident on June 29. He was riding an electric scooter on the Statale 16 highway when he was struck by a van. Despite medical efforts at the Bufalini Hospital Trauma Center in Cesena, the injuries proved fatal. While investigators continue to examine the circumstances of the accident, the family is now focusing on legal measures to protect the memory of the deceased against online harassment.
