Cascina Municipal Plan faces criticism over safety and landscape concerns

The Partito Socialista Cascinese has expressed deep concern regarding the approval process of the new Piano Operativo Comunale (Municipal Operational Plan) in Cascina. The party criticized the local administration for dismissing serious objections raised by the Tuscany Region and other entities as merely ‘physiological’ dynamics.

The party identified three critical issues that could block the plan's approval: inconsistencies in the buildability index relative to the Structural Plan, landscape concerns raised by the Region that require substantial revision of building forecasts in restricted areas, and hydraulic and geological safety issues. Specifically, the Genio Civile has suspended three fundamental maps due to documentary deficiencies, a requirement that must be met for the plan to proceed legally.
