Rimini leads Italian upscale hotel occupancy
Rimini has emerged as a top destination for Italian hotel tourism, recording an 86.3% occupancy rate in the upscale segment during the summer quarter. According to the Italian Hotel Monitor by Trademark Italia, this performance places the Romagna city ahead of other monitored destinations.
Nationally, the average price for a room including breakfast rose to 164.76 euros, representing a 6.2% increase compared to the same period in 2025. While the national occupancy rate saw a slight decrease of 0.6 percentage points to 78.3%, higher tariffs have helped sustain revenues despite challenges regarding consumer purchasing power.
Regional data shows Central Italy leading with a 79.8% occupancy rate and an average price of 190.05 euros. The North-East follows with 79.5% occupancy, while the South and Islands recorded 77.5% occupancy. Additionally, the upcoming Ecomondo trade fair is expected to drive significant seasonal demand, with over 450 hotels in the Rimini area expected to remain open to accommodate exhibitors and international buyers.
