Rimini officials debate delays in skyscraper underpass construction

Political tensions have risen in Rimini regarding the construction of the skyscraper underpass. Councilman Gioenzo Renzi criticized the “incredible” delays in the project's execution.

Assessor Mattia Morolli responded by attributing the delays to Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) and coordination issues with telecommunications providers, including FiberCop, Fastweb, and WindTre. Morolli noted that the site was stagnant for a year between April 2025 and March 2026 due to these infrastructure complexities. He announced plans to seek further clarifications from RFI in an upcoming meeting to address the frustrations of citizens, businesses, and the local administration.
