Emilia-Romagna signs new Pact for work, climate, and social economy

Institutional, economic, and social representatives in Emilia-Romagna have signed a new Pact for Work, Climate, and Social Economy. The agreement, involving 58 territorial entities including trade unions, universities, and business associations, aims to address major contemporary challenges through coordinated regional action.

Key priorities outlined in the pact include combating job precariousness, improving workplace safety, and relaunching public healthcare. It also addresses the housing emergency and environmental challenges such as floods and heatwaves, with a goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. The inclusion of the social economy as a third pillar recognizes the role of the third sector in promoting community cohesion and well-being.

Local administrations, such as those in Ferrara and Reggio Emilia, have expressed support for the initiative, emphasizing the need to translate these programmatic commitments into concrete local actions that support economic competitiveness without placing undue burdens on vulnerable social groups.
