Rimini reports over 380 vehicle thefts in one year

Statistical data from the Ministry of the Interior reveals a high rate of vehicle theft in the province of Rimini. Over a 12-month period in 2024, a total of 381 vehicles were stolen, averaging more than one theft per day.

The breakdown of stolen vehicles includes 188 cars, 89 motorcycles, and 104 scooters. Rimini ranks second in the Emilia-Romagna region for scooter thefts, trailing only Bologna, and third for motorcycle thefts behind Bologna and Modena.

These figures highlight a significant vulnerability for residents and visitors, particularly during the summer season. The high incidence of two-wheeled vehicle theft has led to increased instances of remote control cloning and lock picking in poorly monitored parking areas.
