Rimini theft: San Marino citizen targeted by flat tire scam

A citizen from San Marino was targeted by a distraction theft in Rimini, specifically in the Piazzale Pascoli area. The perpetrator used a method known as the ‘flat tire scam,’ where a vehicle's tire is intentionally slashed to force the driver to exit the car.

While the victim was inspecting the damaged rear right tire, a thief entered the vehicle and stole a bag left on the passenger seat. The stolen items included documents, a mobile phone, and a bank card, which was subsequently blocked.

Authorities note that similar incidents have occurred in Rimini previously, including at the Le Befane shopping center. The State Police advise motorists not to leave valuables visible in their vehicles and to contact law enforcement immediately if they encounter suspicious situations.
