Rimpy Hothi's real estate license suspended by B.C. regulator

The B.C. Financial Services Authority has issued an immediate suspension of the real estate license for Vancouver-based agent Rimpy Hothi. The order also applies to the Rimpy Hothi Real Estate Corporation.

Issued as an order in urgent circumstances, the regulator stated that Hothi is prohibited from all licensed real estate activities and is also barred from working as an unlicensed assistant. The authority noted that the conduct in question could lead to disciplinary orders under Section 43 of the Real Estate Services Act, but determined that waiting for a full investigation or hearing would be detrimental to the public interest.

As part of the order, Hothi is required to change the name of her registered real estate team, the Rimpy Hothi Group, within 10 days. The regulator has advised Hothi’s current clients to contact her brokerage, Sutton Group – West Coast Realty, to discuss their options and how the suspension affects their business.
