Rimu Nakamura wins inaugural BMX Freestyle gold at Asian Games
At the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan's BMX Freestyle team secured three medals during the inaugural competition for the discipline. Rimu Nakamura won the gold medal in the men's event, becoming the first-ever Asian Games BMX Freestyle champion. Fū Kazuki Ozawa earned the silver medal in the men's category.
In the women's competition, Miharu Ozawa claimed the silver medal despite competing with a right ankle injury sustained a week prior to the event. Reena Shirai finished in fourth place. The Japanese team's performance included a total of three medals, with China's Sun Su-bei taking gold in the women's division and Sha Xiaolun taking bronze in the men's.
