Rinaldo Franci Conservatory to present music and neuroscience research at Bright Night 2026
The Rinaldo Franci Conservatory of Siena will present four innovative research projects at Bright Night 2026 during an AperiTalk at the Chigiana Art Cafè. The event focuses on the intersection of music, neuroscience, and new technologies.
As part of two unique AFAM doctoral research cycles in Italy, the conservatory explores how music and performance interact with bioengineering and neuroscience. The research topics include musician focal dystonia, vibrotactile technologies for the hearing impaired, scientific approaches to singing instruction, and musical neurophenomenology.
The project involves a collaborative network including the Conservatories of Lucca and Livorno, the Universities of Pisa and Siena, the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, IMT Lucca, and the Sienese Hospital-University Agency.
