Rincón authorities clear illegal beach umbrellas and chairs

Local officials in Rincón, a town north of Morocco bordering the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, launched a coordinated operation on Saturday to remove illegal umbrellas, chairs and other beach equipment from public beachfronts. The campaign, carried out under the direction of the president of the third administrative district and supported by the prefecture of M’diq‑Fnideq, auxiliary forces and law‑enforcement agents, targeted the beaches of Cabo Negro, Restinga and Marina. Equipment installed without authorization by residents of nearby complexes, hotels and other private parties was seized and taken away.

Authorities said the action restores free and equal access to the coastline for all beach‑goers. The operation was well received by swimmers and visitors, who welcomed the effort to improve leisure conditions and preserve the public character of the shore. Officials indicated that similar periodic clean‑ups will continue to combat illegal occupation of maritime public domains.
