Crime and wildlife protection reports across Argentina and Paraguay

Various criminal and environmental incidents have been reported across Argentina and Paraguay. In Argentina, wildlife protection efforts in the East Zone resulted in the rescue and transfer of 73 animals, primarily birds, during the first half of 2026. Simultaneously, rural security remains a concern; in Entre Ríos, authorities recovered stolen cattle and rescued injured owls and owls, while in Mar del Plata, the Sociedad Rural reported a critical shortage of patrol vehicles for rural areas.

Criminal activity includes the theft of 30 tons of corn in Campo del Cielo, leading to the arrest of three workers, and a series of robberies in Resistencia and Morón. In Berisso, a member of the Buenos Aires Provincial Police was detained after threatening a homeowner with a knife and attacking responding officers. In Paraguay, two Uruguayan nationals were arrested in Encarnación for theft, and in Asunción, a family accused two police officers of stealing a mobile phone during a home robbery investigation.

Other reported incidents include an attempted robbery involving a firearm in Resistencia, a domestic dispute in Añatuya involving an armed and intoxicated man, and a violent assault on a woman by her former partner's family in La Colonia Tinco.
