Ring Announcer Oki Okita Diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer

Veteran Japanese professional wrestling ring announcer Oki “Okky” Okita, known for his work with All Japan Women’s Pro Wrestling, ARSION, ZERO1 and most recently Dream Star Fighting Marigold, has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that has already spread to other parts of his body. After noticing physical symptoms, he underwent tests at a Tokyo hospital, which confirmed the advanced diagnosis. Okita is currently hospitalized while doctors stabilize his condition, and chemotherapy is scheduled to begin in early August.

Marigold announced the news ahead of its July 30 event and called on fans to support Okita. The promotion also designated the upcoming MARIGOLD SUMMER DESTINY 2026 show on August 9 at EBARA WAVE Arena Ota as an “Okky Aid” benefit event to raise funds and morale for his fight. The wrestling community has responded with messages of encouragement and prayers for his recovery.
