Ring Announces New Outdoor and Peephole Cameras

Ring introduced two new outdoor security devices in July 2026. The Ring Outdoor Camera (2nd Gen) offers 2K video, up to 6× enhanced zoom and true‑colour low‑light vision. The Ring Peephole Camera 2K functions as a video doorbell that replaces a traditional peephole, providing a wide field of view and motion detection. Both models are available for pre‑order on Amazon with shipments expected in early‑mid August.

Reolink launched its second‑generation video doorbell, featuring 2K 4MP resolution, full‑body views and AI‑driven detection of people, pets, vehicles and packages. Qualcomm’s QCC730 low‑power Wi‑Fi technology is used to extend battery life to up to ten months. SwitchBot added the Outdoor Pan/Tilt Cam 3K, which records in 3K resolution and uses AI to generate natural‑language summaries of events, allowing users to query footage with prompts such as “show me when the car was scratched.”
