Ringo Starr suggests The Beatles would have reunited if members lived

Ringo Starr believes The Beatles likely would have reunited if John Lennon and George Harrison were still alive. In a recent interview with Page Six, the 86-year-old drummer reflected on the unique bond he shared with his bandmates, describing the group as a brotherhood that provided friendship, togetherness, and mutual support.

Starr noted that he and Paul McCartney remain close, speaking approximately twice a month and maintaining contact through family visits and shared meals. The two have also continued to collaborate musically, with McCartney contributing bass to several of Starr’s records.

The comments come amid renewed interest in the band's legacy, specifically regarding an upcoming ambitious project by director Sam Mendes. The project is expected to consist of four biographical films, one for each member, slated for release in 2028.
