Rino Gaetano album “Mio fratello è figlio unico” to receive 50th anniversary reissue

A special celebratory edition of Rino Gaetano’s landmark 1976 album, “Mio fratello è figlio unico,” will be released on November 20 to mark its 50th anniversary. The reissue will be available in CD format and as a limited edition 180g black vinyl with audio remastered at 192kHz.

A notable feature of this release is the inclusion of the original, uncensored version of the song “Sfiorivano le viole.” The track had previously been censored due to its explicit references to the Vietnam War and American bombings.

The package will also include a special booklet containing song lyrics, a reproduction of the original sheet music for the title track, and an original presentation from the era produced by the record label. According to the artist's nephew, Alessandro Gaetano, the reissue aims to honor the musician's freedom of thought and his ability to critique society through irony and paradox.
