Rino Tazawa arrested in Tokyo for cocaine possession

Rino Tazawa, a popular cabaret club hostess known as ‘Yamatourino,’ was arrested on September 15 in Minato, Tokyo, for possession of approximately 0.4 grams of cocaine. Tazawa, an influencer with over 170,000 Instagram followers, reportedly admitted to the charges.

The arrest has reignited controversy regarding Tazawa’s past remarks, specifically a claim made on a YouTube program that becoming a famous cabaret hostess is more difficult than becoming a Major League Baseball player. This comparison drew significant criticism from netizens for appearing to disparage professional athletes.

Additionally, attention has turned to businessman and host Roland, who hosted a YouTube program featuring Tazawa. During a recording in June, Roland refused to take a photo with Tazawa, stating, ‘I don’t take photos with anti-social elements.’ Following the arrest, many have praised Roland’s perceived foresight and crisis management skills.
