Building Greening Action Week 2026 to promote urban greening in Germany

The Building Greening Action Week 2026 is scheduled to take place from September 14 to 20. Initiated by the Bundesverband GebäudeGrün e. V. (BuGG), this nationwide campaign focuses on urban greening and the de-sealing of surfaces.

Activities will be held across Germany through in-person, online, and hybrid formats. The campaign aims to facilitate knowledge transfer, reduce reservations regarding green infrastructure, and encourage practical implementation. Key participants include various associations, cities, nature conservation organizations, and companies.

Specific regional involvement includes excursions in Munich and Erfurt to view completed roof and facade greening projects, as well as advisory weeks in Freiburg and Offenburg. An interactive map on the BuGG website will track and publish all participating actions.
