Ceilândia man arrested after stealing bus following hospital escape

A 43-year-old man was arrested in Ceilândia, Distrito Federal, after escaping from a hospital in Taguatinga and stealing a bus. The suspect, who was still wearing a hospital gown at the time of his arrest, drove the vehicle to Via Estrutural.

According to the Polícia Civil do Distrito Federal (PCDF), the man ignored orders to stop and attempted to flee, driving in a zigzag pattern, crossing medians, and driving against the flow of traffic. During the pursuit, he nearly struck other vehicles and a pedestrian. The man eventually abandoned the bus through the driver's window and attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended by police from the 8ª Delegacia de Polícia (SIA).

The suspect claimed he acted on impulse to reach his son's house and stated he had been hospitalized following an assault the previous night.
