Rio Branco courts to hold trials for murder and feminicide

Two separate criminal trials are scheduled in Rio Branco, Acre.

Ludimila Michelle da Silva Monteiro, known as ‘Invocada’, is facing trial for qualified homicide and participation in a criminal organization. She is accused of ordering the 2019 murder of 14-year-old Mariane Félix do Nascimento. The victim had attempted to switch criminal factions and was executed by gunfire and stabbings following torture.

Separately, reserve military officer Reginaldo de Freitas Rodrigues will be tried on September 17 for the feminicide of Ionara Silva Nazaré. The prosecution alleges the crime occurred in the presence of the victim's children, involving four shots from a state-owned pistol. While the defense has claimed self-defense, the Court of Justice of Acre upheld the prosecution's charges.
