Rio Branco: Cyclist and motorcyclist injured in collision

A 72-year-old cyclist and a 43-year-old motorcyclist were injured following a collision on the Estrada da Floresta in Rio Branco, near the Florestão Stadium.

According to reports, Valdir Marques Gomes was attempting to cross the road on his bicycle via a pedestrian crossing when he was struck by a Yamaha Factor motorcycle operated by Lidiane dos Santos. The impact caused both individuals to be thrown to the ground.

Emergency medical services (SAMU) responded to the scene with both basic and advanced support units. Mr. Gomes suffered a head injury, including a mild traumatic brain injury and disorientation, along with various abrasions. Ms. dos Santos sustained dental fractures and abrasions to her body. Both victims were transported to the Rio Branco Emergency Care Unit in stable condition. The Federal Highway Police (PRF) isolated the area for forensic procedures.
