Rio Branco to launch new bus fleet in October

Rio Branco is set to begin a new public transportation operation in October following the arrival of a new fleet from the JTP group. Mayor Alysson Bestene stated that the new buses are currently being relocated and are expected to arrive in the capital by September 30.

JTP was contracted on an emergency basis to gradually replace Ricco Transportes amid a crisis in the city's collective transport system. The new model includes a fleet of 120 buses. The transition will occur incrementally as the previous operator reduces its participation.

The new fleet, acquired by COM Rio Branco (a JTP group company) from manufacturer Caio, includes 60 Apache VIP V models with an 84-person capacity and 20 Apache VIP VI models with a 72-person capacity. These vehicles are designed with modern amenities such as air conditioning, USB chargers, and dedicated spaces for people with disabilities, including hydraulic elevators and wheelchair access.

In addition to the fleet renewal, the municipal government plans to revitalize passenger infrastructure, including bus stops and terminals, starting with the José de Melo region.
