Rio Claro to inaugurate egg processing facility

The municipality of Rio Claro will inaugurate a new egg processing facility (Entreposto de Ovos) on the 10th at 10:00 AM. Located on Rodovia Saturnino Braga at Estrada dos Pinheiros, the structure is designed to receive, process, classify, and standardize rural production from family farmers.

The facility aims to formalize local production and improve sanitary control through washing, classification, and selection processes. A primary objective is to supply the municipal school meal program, which recently purchased approximately 5,400 dozen eggs. The local government hopes to shift more of this demand to local producers.

José Vicente de Almeida, Secretary of Environment and Agriculture, stated that the space will serve as a production support center to structure the supply chain and open new commercial opportunities. The initiative also seeks to encourage producer regularization through the National Registry of Family Agriculture (CAF) and facilitate access to credit for agricultural investments.
