Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Norte launch state-level social initiatives

The Rio de Janeiro state government has resumed the State Pact to Combat the Causes of Infrequency, Abandonment, and School Dropout. Teresópolis is among 12 municipalities joining the mobilization, which aims to strengthen cooperation between public authorities and partner institutions to prevent students from leaving the classroom and ensure they complete basic education.

In Rio Grande do Norte, the state government signed agreements with 63 municipalities to implement the Bem-te-vi Program. This initiative focuses on reducing maternal, fetal, and neonatal mortality by improving maternal-infant healthcare networks from prenatal care through childbirth.

Additionally, Governor Fátima Bezerra formalized a partnership with the Almeida de Castro Maternity Hospital. This agreement involves a monthly investment of approximately R$3 million to provide 25 pediatric beds for medium and high-complexity clinical and surgical care, centralizing pediatric services to improve regional assistance.
