Rio de Janeiro launches multiple urban and social infrastructure projects

The Rio de Janeiro municipal government, led by Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere, has launched several urban development and social initiatives across the city.

In the Gamboa region, construction has begun on a new R$11.3 million facility for the Unidos da Tijuca samba school. The project, expected to be completed by the first half of 2027, will provide a permanent space for rehearsals, cultural events, and community activities on a 2,500-square-meter site.

In the West Zone, the Moacyr Padilha Technological Educational Gymnasium (GET) was inaugurated in Padre Miguel. This facility will serve 279 students from 1st to 5th grade, focusing on full-time education and technological skills like programming. The city aims to reach 500 GET units by 2028.

Additionally, a R$210 million infrastructure project was presented for Complexo do Alemão. This initiative includes water and sewage networks, paving, the construction of 192 housing units, and the creation of the Everest Park to improve living conditions in the North Zone.

Environmental efforts also continue in São Conrado, where the Planta+Rio program facilitated the replanting of 18 trees to enhance urban arborization and sustainability.
