Rio de Janeiro begins restoration of historical buildings on Rua do Teatro

The Rio de Janeiro municipal government has initiated a new phase of the Reviver Centro Patrimônio PRÓ-APAC program, focusing on the restoration of historical buildings on Rua do Teatro. The program utilizes a combination of private investment and public subsidies to recover degraded historic structures for use as shops and apartments.

During a ceremony at the Real Gabinete Português de Leitura, officials symbolically handed over keys to the first properties included in the project. Participating entities include the House RJ developer, the Venerável Ordem Terceira dos Mínimos de São Francisco de Paula, and the Real Gabinete. This stage marks a transition from administrative planning and auctions to active architectural restoration and reconstruction of the urban landscape.
