Rio Carnaval 2027: Liesa announces rehearsal schedule and ticket sales

The Liga Independente das Escolas de Samba do Rio de Janeiro (Liesa) has released the technical rehearsal schedule for Rio Carnaval 2027. The free events will take place at the Marquês de Sapucaí on January 23, 24, 30, and 31. These rehearsals allow samba schools to test lighting and sound while practicing their parades, and the schedule includes performances by junior samba schools.

In a separate development, Liesa has begun the fifth stage of ticket sales for the 2027 season. Special grandstands and frisas (private boxes) were made available via Ticketmaster following the return of tickets from canceled or incomplete transactions. These specific tickets sold out within one hour of being released. The next sales phase is expected to focus on popular sectors 12 and 13 at the Praça da Apoteose.

Additionally, preparations for the 2027 season are underway for the Série Ouro, with organizers meeting to align operational procedures for the 17 schools participating in that category.
