Rio de Janeiro court blocks child support funds for son of ex-goalkeeper Bruno
The Rio de Janeiro State Court (TJRJ) has suspended the transfer of R$ 105,000 intended to pay overdue child support for Bruninho Samúdio, the son of former goalkeeper Bruno Fernandes.
The funds originate from a lawsuit Bruno won against Editora Record regarding the unauthorized use of his image. Before the legal dispute over the funds escalated, Bruno had signed a public deed in 2024 to sell his rights to this judicial credit to PBL Compras de Créditos Judiciais in exchange for immediate payment.
A lower court had previously ruled that the child support payments should take priority over the private credit assignment. However, the 14th Private Law Chamber granted a suspensive effect to the appeal filed by the credit purchasing company, citing a risk of irreversible damage to the buyer. The amount will remain held by the court pending a final collective decision.
