Rio de Janeiro delivers 96 new apartments in Santa Cruz
The Rio de Janeiro City Hall has delivered 96 new apartments in Santa Cruz as part of the Morar Carioca do Aço housing program. This latest delivery brings the total number of families benefited by the program to 496.
The project involves a total investment of R$ 300.9 million and combines housing construction with extensive urbanization efforts. Units are delivered furnished, with ground-floor apartments specifically adapted for people with disabilities or reduced mobility.
Beyond housing, the initiative includes infrastructure improvements in the Comunidade do Aço, covering over 195,000 square meters of public area. These works include paving, drainage, sewage systems, and water supply networks. Additionally, the project features a 3.5-million-liter reservoir and leisure spaces, including a large plaza with a skate park, sports courts, and a playground.
