Rio de Janeiro hospitality sector updates: awards and recruitment

The registration deadline for the Top Hotel RJ 2026 awards has been extended to October 2 at 6:00 PM. Organized by HotéisRIO and ABIH-RJ, the awards recognize excellence in the Rio de Janeiro hospitality sector across four categories: Social Action (Corintho Falcão), Entrepreneurship (Eduardo Tapajós), Sustainability (Selo Verde da Hotelaria), and Hotel Expansion. Winners will be announced during a ceremony scheduled for late November.

Separately, the Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro in Barra da Tijuca is hosting a career event on October 7 to fill 22 vacancies across various departments, including Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, and Sales. Applications for these positions, which include both permanent roles and internships, are open until October 2.
