Rio de Janeiro hosts diverse sports and community events

Rio de Janeiro is hosting several community and sporting events this weekend. In São Gonçalo, Parque RJ Nosso Sonho will host the final stage of the Circuito Carioca de Handebol de Praia on Saturday, organized by the Rio de Janeiro State Handball Federation. On Sunday, the park will host the first edition of ‘Impacto em 4 Rodas’, an exhibition featuring vintage and lowered cars, accompanied by music and giveaways.

In Barra da Tijuca, the Liga Esportiva NESCAU will take place at the Clube de Aeronáutica. This multi-sport competition for children and adolescents aged 7 to 17 includes 14 different modalities, such as football, volleyball, athletics, and badminton. The event emphasizes inclusivity, offering adapted activities for people with disabilities and workshops in capoeira and surfing. Professional surfer Sophia Medina is also expected to participate in the program.
