Rio de Janeiro launches new public service contests for Maricá health jobs and Cremerj positions

The municipality of Maricá in Rio de Janeiro has signed a contract with the Coordination of Academic Selection at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Coseac/UFF) to organise a new public‑service exam for its health department. The forthcoming competition will offer 836 posts – 296 as agents of endemic disease control and 540 as community health agents – requiring only a high‑school diploma, with residency required for the community agents. Salaries are set at R$2,640 and a 40‑hour work week. Publication of the official edital awaits municipal council approval of a draft law creating the new positions.

Separately, the Regional Council of Medicine of Rio de Janeiro (CREMERJ) has created an online portal for the upcoming selection process, with the Instituto Consulplan appointed as the organising body. The exam will cover a wide range of roles at secondary, technical and university levels, including administrative assistants, IT analysts, designers, lawyers and auditors, among others. Details on the number of vacancies, remuneration and exam dates have not yet been released, but candidates will face objective and discursive tests as outlined in the reference term.

Both contests are part of broader efforts to staff public institutions in the state and are expected to open for applications later this year.
