Rio de Janeiro launches urban maintenance program in Catete

The Rio de Janeiro South Zone Subprefecture, in collaboration with the Botafogo Local Executive Management, has launched a new edition of the ‘Corredores de Excelência’ program in the Catete neighborhood. The intensive urban maintenance operation is concentrated on Rua Silveira Martins, specifically the stretch between Rua do Catete and Rua Bento Lisboa.

The initiative involves an integrated effort from several municipal agencies, including Comlurb, the Municipal Secretariat of Conservation, Rioluz, CET-Rio, and the Municipal Guard. Services being provided include street cleaning and washing, clearing drains and sewers, tree pruning, inspection against irregular parking, public lighting maintenance, and general conservation repairs.

Subprefeito Pedro Angelito stated that the program aims to unite planning and execution so that different municipal teams can act in a coordinated manner on the same street. This integration is intended to optimize work, speed up problem-solving, and provide faster improvements for local residents. The program operates on a weekly schedule across various South Zone neighborhoods based on citizen requests via the 1746 service center and local monitoring.
