Rio de Janeiro leads Brazil in zero-rated fuel stations

Rio de Janeiro has the highest number of fuel stations receiving a zero rating from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) among Brazil's 15 most populous municipalities. Out of 634 monitored establishments in the city, 9% received the minimum score.

Rio's 57 zero-rated stations exceed the 40 recorded in São Paulo, despite Rio having less than half the number of monitored stations as the São Paulo capital. The zero rating is based on infraction notices from the last five years, focusing on quality issues such as fuel adulteration and quantity issues involving pump measurement fraud.

Data is accessible via the ANP Com Vc-Postos app, which uses georeferencing to allow consumers to check the ratings of nearby stations. The agency stated that while this information was previously available on various web pages, the app centralizes the data to improve transparency and ease of use.
