Rio de Janeiro man Bruno Marques buried after fatal shooting in Manguinhos

Bruno Marques, 46, was buried on Tuesday in the Inhaúma cemetery following a fatal shooting in the Manguinhos community of Rio de Janeiro. The incident occurred on Sunday night during a 15th birthday celebration in the Amorim community.

Witnesses reported that two men on a motorcycle arrived at the scene looking for a man named Lander de Almeida Souza. During the encounter, a passenger on the motorcycle opened fire, striking Marques and three other individuals. Marques was reportedly holding his two-year-old son when he was shot. While he was transported to the Hospital Federal de Bonsucesso, he did not survive.

The motive for the attack remains unknown. The Civil Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the crime and conducting operations to identify those responsible.
