Rio de Janeiro offers over 9,000 free training slots and jobs for residents
Instituto BR announced the opening of more than 6,500 free training places for youth and adults in Rio de Janeiro. The programmes cover communication, audiovisual, arts, culture, sustainability and urban transformation and will run in the Rocinha, Rio das Pedras, Jacarezinho and Manguinhos neighborhoods. Courses begin in mid‑June and target residents aged 14‑29, with some slots for older participants.
The municipal Labour and Income Secretariat reported 2,870 current vacancies for employment, apprenticeships and internships across the city. Positions span commerce, services, construction, administration and specialised roles, and include 259 openings reserved for people with disabilities. Opportunities are listed for job‑seekers without prior experience as well as for students and graduates, with the CIEE platform posting 1,404 internship and apprenticeship spots.
Together, the initiatives provide more than 9,000 training and employment opportunities aimed at improving skills, fostering community engagement and expanding access to work for Rio de Janeiro’s residents.
