Rio de Janeiro officials inaugurate Bangu urbanization projects
Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere and Housing Secretary Claudio Dutra inaugurated urbanization works in two Bangu communities in Rio de Janeiro's West Zone. The projects, part of the Morar Carioca program, represent a total investment of R$ 20.3 million and are expected to benefit approximately 2,500 residents.
In Parque das Mangueiras, roughly R$ 16 million was invested across 90,104 square meters and 15 streets. Improvements included water and sewage networks, drainage systems, street paving, public lighting, solid waste collection, landscaping, and slope containment works to enhance safety.
In Travessa Humberto Teixeira, R$ 4.3 million was allocated to a 4,504 square meter area consisting of one street and four alleys. Works included paving, sanitation networks, lighting, and landscaping. Officials stated these interventions aim to eliminate issues such as flooding and mud in the communities while increasing property values.
