Ponta Grossa man arrested for suspected abuse of granddaughters

A 69-year-old man was arrested by the Civil Police of Paraná in Ponta Grossa on suspicion of abusing his granddaughters, aged 7 and 11. The arrest took place in the Contorno neighborhood following a warrant issued by the Judiciary.

The investigation began in June after a police report was filed and was further supported by spontaneous reports from the local school community. Authorities utilized specialized psychological listening, audiovisual media, and formal statements to build the case.

The suspect, who was interrogated alongside legal counsel, has denied the accusations. He has been transferred to the penitentiary system and remains at the disposal of the justice system.
