Rio de Janeiro prison officer investigated for child grooming allegations

Authorities in Rio de Janeiro are investigating a prison officer accused of attempting to groom a 12-year-old girl. The investigation was initiated after the girl's father, a criminal lawyer, discovered messages sent by the officer to his daughter.

The officer reportedly frequented a footvolley school in Jacarepaguá, where the victim also trained. According to the father, the officer sent messages with temporary viewing settings and invited the girl to meet at the beach to play.

The case is being handled by the Child and Adolescent Victim Police Station (DCAV) and has also triggered an administrative inquiry by the State Secretariat of Penal Police (Seppen). Legal measures have been authorized by the court, and the Public Ministry is involved in the proceedings.
