Rio de Janeiro revitalizes major avenues in Campo Grande

The City of Rio de Janeiro has delivered revitalization works for Avenues Cesário de Melo and Joaquim Magalhães in the Campo Grande neighborhood, located in the West Zone. The project involved 2.5 kilometers of roads and is part of a broader mobility plan for the area.

Key improvements include pavement recovery, the construction of a new roundabout near Rua Senhora, reorganized bus stops and parking spaces, and the implementation of a 1.5-kilometer bike lane. Additionally, approximately 27,500 square meters of sidewalks were renovated, and over two kilometers of drainage networks were installed to improve rainwater runoff. The works also addressed water supply and sewage networks.

These interventions aim to reorganize traffic around the Professor Moacyr Sreder Bastos Tunnel and reduce vehicle concentration on Estrada das Capoeiras and Estrada do Mendanha. The Campo Grande Mobility Plan consists of nine projects with an estimated total investment of approximately R$ 1 billion, funded by the municipal and federal governments.
