Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo announce major infrastructure and road works

Several major infrastructure projects and road maintenance works are scheduled across Brazil. In Rio de Janeiro, CET-Rio has announced nighttime closures for the Rebouças Tunnel, the Vice-President José Alencar Tunnel, and the Presidente Itamar Franco Elevated Highway to facilitate maintenance services.

In São Paulo, the Via Dutra highway will undergo asphalt recovery and microfresing between October 15 and 22, affecting traffic in both the Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo directions. Additionally, the São Paulo Metro has commenced excavations for the Line 2-Green extension to Guarulhos. This project utilizes the Hebe Camargo, the largest tunnel boring machine in Latin America, to excavate approximately 5.8 kilometers of tunnel.

In Curitiba, various urban interventions are underway, including drainage works on Rua Catarina Scotti and partial blockages on Rua Alcides Munhoz and Avenida Marechal Floriano Peixoto as part of the Novo Inter 2 and PRO Curitiba investment programs.
